To have a good swing in golf, a player needs to take their time in swinging the club. Players often feel the need to act fast since the ball has to get to a far distance. But a rushed hit might send the ball to a different destination. For a perfect swing, the club's speed has to evolve gradually to hit the ball. The transition from backswing to forward swing doesn't have to be rushed. Therefore, a player needs to ensure a slow swing transition.

When calm, players can comfortably pick out a specific target for their shots. Indecisiveness moves the mind all about the place and throws the player off course. But once a definite target is achieved, much energy is invested in seeing that the ball gets to its intended destination.
